Animal Care Volunteer

Help care for our onsite rescue animals day to day. 
Typical tasks:

  • Cleaning enclosures and changing bedding
  • Feeding and providing fresh hay and water
  • Health checks and basic grooming
  • Socialising and helping with handling

Ideal for: Animal lovers who don’t mind getting stuck in.
Requirements: This role is at our main rescue centre so ability to get here is essential, reliability, and willingness to learn. Full, comprehensive training provided.

On-Site Supervisor

Support the smooth running of rescue operations on site.
Typical tasks:

  • Overseeing volunteers while at the rescue
  • Helping with day to day duties such as cleaning, feeding and grooming
  • Assist with bonding of animals
  • Ensure the rescue is left clean and tidy at the end of the shift

Ideal for: Confident, experienced volunteers ready for a leadership role.
Requirements: This role is at our main rescue centre so ability to get here is essential, reliability, great people skills and practical knowledge of animal care (at least 6 months of animal management experience).

General Admin Volunteer

Support behind the scenes with admin and communication.

Typical tasks:

  • Keeping rescue spreadsheets up-to-date
  • Responding to messages or helping manage adoption enquiries
  • Assist in other areas as needed

Ideal for: Organised individuals or those with basic digital skills.
Requirements: Reliable internet access, attention to detail, good communication.

Sponsor Team Support

Help support our Rescue Manager with our sponsorship programme that funds food, housing, and vet care for long-term residents.
Typical tasks:

  • Ensuring sponsor posters are up-to-date
  • Managing sponsor enquires and sign-ups
  • Sending sponsor packs and updates

Ideal for: Friendly, organised people with good written communication.
Requirements: Computer literacy and attention to detail. Training will be provided.

Adoptions Coordinator

Help match rescue animals with loving forever homes.
Typical tasks:

  • Respond to enquires via email and Messager
  • Reviewing adoption applications
  • Arrange home checks
  • Supporting adopters through the process
  • Maintaining adoption records

Ideal for: Detail-oriented, empathetic people with strong communication skills.
Requirements: Understanding of adoption procedures and a friendly, professional manner. Full training and support will be given.

Foster Coordinator

Support our network of foster carers and ensure animals receive the best possible temporary care.
Typical tasks:

  • Ensuring guinea pigs and rabbits are smoothly transitioned into suitable foster homes
  • Providing guidance and support to foster volunteers
  • Arrange pick-up or delivery of animals
  • Scheduling potential adopter visits.

Ideal for: Compassionate, organised people who communicate well.
Requirements: Excellent organisational and communication skills, computer literacy and empathy.

Transport Coordinator

Help us move animals safely between the rescue, foster homes and vet appointments.
Typical tasks:

  • Coordinating local guinea pig and rabbit transport
  • Liaising with foster carers, adopters, and staff
  • Ensuring animals travel safely and comfortably
  • Maintain accurate records of all bookings

Ideal for: Organised individuals who have a knack for logistics.
Requirements: Computer literacy, good communication and organisation skills.

Website & Social Media Support

Help us share our adoption animals, promote events, and connect with our community online.
Typical tasks:

  • Updating the website with new adoptions animals, events, and opportunities at the rescue
  • Writing engaging social media posts and managing comments
  • Potentially creating graphics, short videos, or reels

Ideal for: Creative, enthusiastic digitally savvy volunteers who are ready to make a difference online.
Requirements: Basic understanding of social media platforms is helpful, good writing skills, and reliable internet access. Full training will be provided.

We need you! Opening your home to a rescue animal is one of the most rewarding ways to help. We desperately need more kind people with a bit of time and space to help provide short-term homes to rabbits and guinea pigs until they find their forever homes.

What Fostering Involves

  • Providing a safe, comfortable indoor or outdoor space
  • Giving daily food, water, and enrichment
  • Monitoring health and behaviour
  • Sharing updates and photos with our team to help find adopters
